Our Spanish keyboard is an excellent resource for learning Spanish or typing in Spanish. You can use it with any web browser and without the need for additional software or applications.

Do accents matter in Spanish? Spanish uses a lot of accents and other diacritical marks to change the sound of words and how they are pronounced. While you don't need to use them all the time, it's important to know how to use them and when they are necessary.

The three main types of accents in Spanish:

  • The acute accent (´) is used to mark stress on a word or to distinguish between two words that are otherwise spelled the same.
  • The diaeresis (¨), which is used to separate two vowels that would otherwise form a diphthong.
  • The tilde (~), which can be used on top of the letter n (ñ) to change its sound or above a vowel to indicate nasalization.

Lowercase accented letters that are in Spanish which are not present in English are: á é í ñ ó ú ü

Uppercase accents in Spanish which are not present in English are: Á É Í Ñ Ó Ú Ü

Our keyboard web app allows you to type the Euro symbol (€), as well as two Spanish punctuation marks (¿, ¡). These punctuation marks are not found on a standard keyboard.

To use our online Spanish keyboard, you can either type and click on the Spanish accent that you want to insert into the text. Alternatively, you can type your content and when you want an accent, type the code below so a' for á, e' for é etc.

We hope that by typing on our keyboard, you will be able to type in Spanish at roughly the same speed as you usually type.
